Master's dissertation

Applying Restartable Sequences to Per-CPU Hazard Pointers for Lock-free Linked Lists

Safe memory reclamation is the hard part of lock-free data structures: you can't free a node while another thread might still be reading it. Hazard pointers solve that, but publishing them costs expensive memory fences. This work makes hazard pointers per-CPU and protects them with Linux rseq (restartable sequences), so a thread preempted mid-update simply restarts instead of paying for heavy synchronization.
